KOKONEYUI was born from the moments I needed to come back to myself.
Not at a spa.
Not on holiday.
But at home, late at night, when the house was finally quiet and I could breathe again.
Hi, I’m Maki, founder of KOKONEYUI.
I’m a mother of two sons, and for a long time, much of my life was spent caring for everyone else.
I had always been drawn to the mind, consciousness, meditation, and the idea of living with more peace and joy.
But somewhere along the way, healing became another thing to work hard at.
Another idea to understand.
Another answer to find.
Another way to try to get it right.
My mind was learning, but my body was not resting.
What I truly needed was not more understanding.
I needed to soften.
To slow down.
To breathe out.
To feel safe enough to return to myself.
When I began paying attention to my body, it was not peaceful at first.
My thoughts were loud.
My urgency was strong.
I was always leaning forward, reaching for the next answer.
But little by little, I began to notice something simple:
The body does not speak in explanations.
It speaks in sensation.
A sense of ease.
A quiet no.
A softening.
A small, unmistakable yes.
KOKONEYUI grew from that place.
From the belief that coming back to yourself does not always require a big transformation.
Sometimes, it begins with warm water.
A familiar scent.
A candle glowing in a quiet room.
A small moment where your body finally exhales.
KOKONEYUI creates sensory rituals for those moments.
Bath, scent, texture, light, and quiet details — thoughtfully brought together to help you slow down, reconnect, and listen for your own YES.
Not to escape your life.
But to return to it more gently.
Why I Create KOKONEYUI
My wish is simple.
To create small moments where people who have spent the day caring, giving, and holding everything together can return to themselves, just as they are.
Not to fix themselves.
Not to improve themselves.
Not to become someone else.
But to rest in who they already are.
A dim light.
Warm water.
A familiar scent.
A quiet breath.
A moment where nothing is required of you.
That is the space KOKONEYUI is created for.
Ingredients & Care
Because KOKONEYUI begins with the senses and the body, the ingredients and materials I use matter deeply to me.
My own skin, and my children’s skin, can be sensitive, so I approach every formula with care and intention.
Each ingredient is chosen for its purpose, feel, and suitability within the product. I value thoughtful formulas, gentle sensory experiences, and clear, honest information about what each product contains.
Safety, softness, and trust come before trends.
Only products I would genuinely want beside me in my own everyday rituals become part of KOKONEYUI.
What I Make
KOKONEYUI creates small-batch bath salts, bath soaks, bath bombs, candles, room mists, body care, and thoughtfully curated ritual sets.
Each piece is designed as a small sensory companion — something to help you slow down, reconnect with your body, and return to your own rhythm, even within an ordinary or busy day.
How I Make
• Carefully chosen ingredients and materials
• Thoughtful formulas created for their feel and purpose
• Hand-poured, hand-finished, and prepared in small batches
• Tested and refined in-house
• Recyclable and lower-waste packaging where possible
• Made slowly, with attention to the details that shape the whole experience
KOKONEYUI began in a small home in Australia — a place I came to think of as my Inner Bloom House.
It was there that I learned to simplify, to listen for my quiet YES, and to turn ordinary moments into small rituals.
I have always been drawn to clean visual spaces, quiet beauty, and objects that feel honest and considered in the hands.
When I could not find products that held that same feeling, I began creating them myself — first for my own home, and eventually for yours.
Roots & Place
KOKONEYUI is Australian owned and operated, shaped by coastal light, late-afternoon air, and the quiet comfort of home.
Its name and sensibility also carry traces of my Japanese roots — a love of simplicity, thoughtful details, and beauty that does not need to be loud.
KOKONEYUI sits gently between these two places: Australian light and Japanese quiet.
An Invitation
If you are new to KOKONEYUI, begin with the ritual that feels right for you today.
You might be drawn to a scent, a texture, a colour, or simply a quiet feeling of yes.
There is no perfect place to begin.
And if you already recognise your YES, I am honoured to create something that meets you there.
xo, Maki
